Well, "Toby" is doing just GREAT. I truly can't believe how quickly he has adjusted to our busy family and the other animals. He's very gentle with the kids, super playful, great with the cats and Ollie--just a love. Everyone that meets him falls in love with him!! Our vet, especially, thought that we really lucked out with him. They all loved him! Here are some photos. The first two is the path right beyond our driveway in the woods. I take the dogs out every morning for run/play time. We've been able to let him off leash and he loves it! Has made a few friends in the neighborhood, too, so they come down to play with us sometimes! The other two are my son Charlie and daughter Grace with Toby. He learned to make himself "right at home" on the couch pretty quickly. I couldn't resist--he's a great snuggler!
We are just loving her so much! She has been a wonderful addition to our family. My daughter takes her for walks every day when she gets home from school, and she is very good on the leash. She has had a few accidents in the house, and seems to prefer the carpet to the linoleum! But, she has improved over the past week and a half, and seems to be catching on to the fact she gets a treat if she does it outside, so now runs to the door more frequently even if she doesn't have to "go"! She is a great match with our family and lifestyles. She loves to curl up and cuddle, which all three of us enjoy. She seems to have acclimated well to the new place. She has a comfy dog bed, crate, and plenty of toys she likes playing with, her favorite being a plush stuffed duck squeaky toy. I made her initial vet appointment for a few weeks away just for a well visit, and to get the heart worm meds. She seems to be a very happy doggie! And we are very happy owners! :)
I just wanted to give you an update on my new life with my mommy and daddy -- Bob & Leia Taggart who adopted me on Dec. 24th. -- I love my house in Norwood. I am registered and licensed in the town of Norwood. However, on Christmas Day - My Daddy called me "KONA" and I have answered to that name ever since. I do not go by the name 'Lance' anymore….My name is Kona Taggart and that is the name everyone knows me by. I have lots of friends here. My daddy takes me to the park everyday in the afternoon and I have playdates with other dogs. I love to run, run, run!!! I am very friendly with others and very good around kids. I have lots of toys as mommy and daddy spoil me! Every morning, I get up at 5AM with daddy and wait til he leaves for work and then I climb back into bed with mommy and snuggle with her until she gets up. Mommy says that I am her little love-bug! We are soooooo happy! I have gone to the doctor's for a physical and have gotten a lyme disease vaccination and booster along with my monthly heartworm pills. My doctor is Dr. Carpenter from Norwood Animal Hospital. He says I am a good boy and very obedient and well mannered. I have gained 13 pounds in the last 2 months--- I weighed 60 when I first went home, I now weigh 73. Dr. Carpenter says I am very healthy and at a very good weight. Also, mommy takes me to the doggie-salon once a month where I have a bath, blow-out, brush, ears cleaned, nails clipped, and teeth brushed. I like the girls there -- they are very nice and I try to play with them in the bath tub! :-) Thank you for helping me find my forever home with Mommy and Daddy! They are the best and I love them so much as they love me so much too! I have attached a couple of pictures above. One was taken at the park, and the other 2 at my house on the couch -- (I love to sit on top of the couch and look out the window). Thanks again and hope everyone is doing as well as I am!
Sandy is doing AMAZING! She fits in so perfectly with our lifestyle and is honestly the sweetest little thing. She has adapted so well I am very impressed at how easy and quick it was for her. She wakes me up every morning with her little paws on my face and some kissing. She does the little biting of the fingers but that is fine because it seems to be how she plays. I haven't been able to get her to actually play with a toy but she loves to chase us around outside. She's met my parents yorkies a few times and doesn't seem to mind them which is good. She is bringing us so much happiness I honestly couldn't have asked for a better fit! I have attached a few pictures! Thank you so much for taking such great care of her!
Mocha is doing really well. She has adjusted to her new "home" and is enjoying having another dog, Louie, a 7-year old black Pug to be with daily. Greg has set-up a nice routine for her. Each morning they go for a 45 minute walk in the woods near our house - Mocha also gets some ball fetching in during their walk. She loves to explore the woods. She spends the day with Greg as his job allows him to have her with him. She spends time at his shop and is with people throughout the day. She looks forward to coming home at night where she is doted on. Mocha has gained about 15 pounds! She has a good appetite and enjoys regular meals of dry food and chicken. Her coat has gotten so shiny and she is getting very strong from running. Mocha continues to be a good fetcher and catcher - she has lots of energy and enjoys the dog park near our house. She still has a ways to go with listening as she gets excited around other people/dogs but we are working with her to listen/stay. Mocha is also happy to spend time with my 15 year old son, who spoils her with attention and treats. Mocha is very eager to please and has a wonderful temperment. Everyone who meets her comments on "what a beautiful dog she is".
